As humans, we cannot steel ourselves so much as to be absolutely immune or oblivious to the world around us. Sometimes, you can’t help but take on the negative vibrations surrounding the collective – and end up feeling helpless or angry at the state of the world.

If you’re a Lightworker, you’re especially sensitive to these energies around you. That’s why it’s so important to make a conscious and intentional effort to raise your vibration.

But here’s the thing most people get wrong: raising your vibration is not about forcing yourself into a “good mood” or repeating affirmations over and over while ignoring how you actually feel.

Instead, it’s about removing the energetic dead weight that’s been pulling you down (the fear, the conditioning, the unhealed patterns) and then using simple, powerful techniques to elevate your frequency both instantly and permanently.

Why Raising Your Vibration Matters

Your vibrational state is directly linked to your emotional state. When your frequency is high, you feel lighter, more peaceful, and more inspired. Life flows. Opportunities seem to find you. In the latest episode of the Architects of Destiny Podcast, I shared  how my mum was sending me clips about a plant medicine ceremony gone wrong, followed by headlines predicting war in Poland. The first thing I said to my mum:

Mainstream media thrives on fear, drama, and division. And fear is one of the fastest ways to lower your vibration. But this isn’t just about turning off the news, it’s about being mindful of all the content you consume.

Meanwhile, in the same episode, Aeron shared that he learned this the hard way in Australia during 2020–2021. When he stopped watching the news, he felt instantly lighter… until he replaced it with endless “truth-seeker” Telegram channels. Even if their intentions were good, they still fuelled fear and hopelessness.

Lesson? Whether it’s the 6 o’clock news or a “hidden truths” channel, if it leaves you feeling anxious, hopeless, or angry, it’s lowering your frequency. Turn. It. Off.

The Weight of Distressing Entertainment

This applies to fiction and documentaries, too. Violence, cruelty, war (even in the name of “awareness”) can be emotionally and energetically draining.

We were recently trying to watch a documentary about animal testing. As important as the cause was, the distressing scenes were too much. We stopped watching halfway through.

It’s not about pretending these realities don’t exist. It’s about protecting your energetic field so you can actually show up in the world with the capacity to help without sinking into despair.

  • Limit (or eliminate) fear-based media.
